Matt Saloom has built his career from frontline manufacturing leadership to President and Chief Operating Officer. His foundation includes more than a decade in automotive and heavy-duty powertrain manufacturing at Volvo Group Trucks North America, followed by senior leadership at Hatteras Yachts, Malibu Boats, Maverick Boat Group, and MJM Yachts.
He brings practical experience in P&L leadership, acquisition integration, manufacturing transformation, plant expansion, new product launches, and operational recovery. His work has included leading organizations of up to approximately 1,950 employees and improving performance across complex, asset-intensive operations.
Matt progressed from Volvo Production System Coach and WCM Quality Pillar Owner to leading the development and deployment of the overall site World Class Manufacturing system, helping the operation achieve Gold status. He later applied production-system principles to greenfield startups, new assembly lines, facility consolidation, and enterprise operating systems. The Saloom Group brings that experience to businesses across industries, helping leaders build both an execution plan and the internal capability to sustain it.
As a change agent, Matt helps leaders translate business priorities into new ways of working. His approach puts investment in people and processes at the center of transformation: developing leaders, coaching frontline teams, strengthening standard work, and building accountability. The goal is an organization that can own the change and sustain improvement.
Matt is also Co-Founder of Get Certified for Operational Excellence, an executive education and business-transformation organization. He helped develop its Operational Excellence certification program and an operating framework connecting leadership, strategy, KPIs, and execution, while coaching executive teams in Lean and sustainable transformation. That experience strengthens his ability to help businesses develop the leaders and internal capability needed for their own production-system journey.
